balls to the wall
「balls to the wall」は、非常にカジュアルな俗語で、「全力で」「限界まで」「猛スピードで」という意味です。何かに対して最大限の力で取り組むことを表します。

もともとは航空機パイロットの用語で、エンジンレバーの球状の握りballs（エンジンは複数あるので複数形）を、壁際の一番奥まで押し込んで最高速度を出す、というのが語源らしい。
